Replacement Schedule
The expansion valve is usually replaced because it is leaking, sometimes because there it is restricted. Leaks can be detected with bubble restrictions are diagnosed with refrigeration gauges, if your machine goes into a vacuum on the low side, a restricted expansion valve is usually the reason.
