Taylor X82397-SER Universal Thermistor Probe — Assembled by Soft Serve Parts
This universal thermistor probe is assembled by Soft Serve Parts at our Nevada facility and is designed as a compatible replacement for Taylor soft serve machines. The X82397-SER monitors product temperature in the freezing cylinder, providing critical feedback to the control board for proper standby and hopper temperature, and safe operation. Essential sensor for maintaining optimal product quality across a wide range of Taylor models.
Note: The thermistor probe monitors hopper and standby temperatures — it does not control product consistency during the auto (serve) cycle. Common symptoms of a failing thermistor include hoppers freezing too cold, barrels over-freezing during standby mode, or the machine staying too cold overnight. In approximately 90% of thermistor failures, the result is excessively cold hoppers or barrels during standby.

When to Replace: Replace your thermistor probe if you experience inconsistent product texture, product that's too soft or too hard, temperature reading errors on the display, or if the machine won't freeze properly. A faulty thermistor can cause poor product quality, customer complaints, or machine shutdown. This is a critical sensor that should be replaced at the first sign of temperature control issues.
Pro Installation Tip:
For best results, apply Cold Sync Thermal Compound by Soft Serve Parts when installing this probe. Cold Sync is a silicone-based thermal compound that improves thermal conduction between the probe and the barrel, ensuring more accurate temperature sensing. Simply squeeze the syringe into the probe cavity before inserting the thermistor.
