Winter Storage Procedure for Water Cooled Taylor Soft Serve Machines

Winter Storage Procedure for Water Cooled Taylor Soft Serve Machines

If you plan to close your business for the winter months—especially in areas with freezing temperatures—it's essential to protect your soft serve machine from costly freeze-related damage. This applies to all gravity-fed Taylor models.

✅ Step-by-Step Winterization Instructions:

1. Disconnect from Power
Unplug the machine from its power source. This prevents electrical damage while the unit is unused.

2. Shut off the water supply.

3. Relieve the spring pressure in the water valve.

4. Blow out the condenser. Use air pressure on the outlet side of the water system to remove all remaining water. This step is critical—residual water left in the condenser during freezing conditions can cause serious damage to the refrigeration system.

⚠️ Failure to remove water from the condenser can result in cracked components or system failure—repairs are expensive and avoidable.
