✓ Beater resistance test: When sliding the beater assembly into the freezing cylinder, it should feel snug. If it slides in with little resistance, your scraper blades are worn.
✓ Texture inconsistency or streaking on freezing barrel
✓ Blade edge looks rounded or uneven
✓ Soft serve becomes thin, icy, or won’t hold shape
✓ Plastic shavings or scraping noise (replace immediately)
